Contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Cymon Riger, plaintiff in error, hereinafter called the defendant, was arrested on November 21, 1945, upon a complaint charging him with having maliciously, unlawfully and knowingly caused, encouraged, aided, abetted, counselled, advised, incited, procured and contributed to the delinquency of one Jeanne Rae Thomson, a female child of the age of seventeen years. An affidavit of prejudice was filed against the district Judge and a hearing was had before the Honorable A. J. Hedding, Judge presiding. Trial was had on December 13, 1945, whereupon the court found the defendant guilty of the offense as charged in the complaint and he was sentenced to imprisonment in the house of correction for thirty days and in addition to pay a fine of $100. Whereupon the defendant appealed to the municipal court of Milwaukee county. There was a trial de novo on February 7, 1946 to a jury. The jury returned a verdict finding the defendant guilty. There were the usual motions which were denied by the court and the defendant was sentenced to one year in the house of correction for Milwaukee county, and in addition to pay a fine of $500, from which judgment the defendant appeals.
